Fishing, Exercise and Indulgence

If you’re keen on fishing and exercise, you can fish the Twizel River that runs through the property or go for farm walks. Afterwards, indulge yourself with a soak in the Omahau Downs outdoor wood fire bathhouse while drinking wine and taking in the uninterrupted views of Mt Cook.

Aoraki Mount Cook and Mount Cook National Park

Mount Cook National Park, preserved in its natural state, boasts over 7,000 hectares of alpine scenery. Mt Cook is also Australasia's highest mountain and has the longest glacier in the Southern Hemisphere, the Tasman Glacier.

As well as being a popular tourist destination, Aoraki/Mt Cook is also a favourite challenge for mountain climbers. It consists of three summits lying slightly south and east of the main divide, the Low Peak, Middle Peak and High Peak, with the Tasman Glacier to the east and the Hooker Glacier to the west. Fly, Salmon and Trout Fishing in the Mt Cook and MacKenzie Country

The Tekapo River, a 45 minute drive from Twizel, supports a high number of mainly brown and some rainbow trout. It's arguably the best Central South Island fishing river and provides a wide variety of fishing.
